When Milan Verhoeven graduated as a bioengineer in 2021, he never expected to end up in the food industry. But a post on LinkedIn led him to DeliBarn’s Management Traineeship.
“What convinced me? The variety, the responsibility, and the chance to really get to know the company from the inside out.”
Every six months, Milan tackled a new project, ranging from water savings to production optimization.
“I learned to take responsibility, connect people and make a real impact.” His final project with the technical department sparked an unexpected interest in leadership, despite not having a technical background, but with plenty of drive.
After completing his traineeship, Milan went on a year-long trip around the world. “
The fact that I could return says a lot about the trust at DeliBarn.” Today, he leads the technical department as Team Leader Maintenance.
“My goal? Bringing clarity and structure, and helping people grow. That’s what gives me energy every single day.”
His advice for future trainees?
“Dare to take the leap. You’ll get the space to learn, experiment and grow. And that’s worth its weight in gold.”
